"Went to Benares on my husbands birthday. Had the most wonderful evening. Started with a free glass of champagne - still not sure why but when we showed the Gourmet card the champagne appeared - and it would have been impolite to refuse now wouldnt it!....What can I say about the food except WOW...Some reviews on other sites have complained that this isnt like the Indian food they are used to but that is the joy of this restaurant, it isnt like anything you are used. to. Wonderfully special evening - rounded off by a lovely gesture from the staff who found out it was my husbands birthday and presented him with a signed cook book. Highly recommended."
